making a theme lol
If you’re still around, I’ve happened to be in a few Facebook roleplays myself! I’m not entirely familiar with the whole thing, but I’ll tell you a few main points.
What I used to do was a joint Tumblr-Facebook roleplay. If this is the kind of thing that you’ve been planning to do, then I can definitely help you with it. Paras would generally be on the dash and Facebook would be used as Facebook is generally used - as a social network. You would post statuses as the character, about where you are, photos that you can tag other characters in, etc. It’s pretty basic.
As for group Facebook roleplays, I’m not sure, but I’m going to guess that they’re generally open meaning that they don’t require applications (I mean, where would you send it? Wouldn’t it be kind of a pain to message it or post it?) unless they’re a top notch role play or something. The main page would probably be a fan page or something where you like the page instead of actually “friending” it, and the characters would have actual profiles.
I imagine paraing on Facebook as maybe making a status and commenting back and forth (i.e.
- The status would be; It was a sunny day and Dylan decided to text Holland. etc.
- Comment; Holland heard her phone go off.
- Comment 2; Dylan smiled as she saw her text.
If it’s a more personal and longer para, then I’d imagine you’d use the chat system. Of course, it can be longer than a sentence or two, maybe even a whole novel can be written (although you’d may have to comment a few times to get your whole reply in; I’m not entirely sure, but the last time I remembered, you have a limited amount of characters when commenting + the enter button is used to submit the comment instead of going to the next line).
Although I have to admit, Facebook is a dying social network, you can be pretty liberal when it comes to role playing on it. If you’re still not entirely sure, I’d suggest searching up a roleplay on the site and asking them yourselves and see what they do, but of course, as all, that’s not the official way of how to do things. But from my own experience, Facebook is used for character profiles moreso than actually paraing and gif chatting and whatnot. It’s kind of like a shorter, more convenient, less committing way to roleplay rather than Tumblr in my point of view.
I hope this helped!
